Can i return a tv under warranty but doesnt have a receipt to walmart i got the case and stuff?

we bought it a year ago we tried to return it with receipt but they said that walmarts warranty does not start until a year from purchase it was the companys warranty wich we had to send it into the company or something which they recommended not to do its been a year and we lost the receipt plz help.
