Help! I've just found a stray dog. What do I do???

can you keep her at home with you safely ??? whilst you go around the shops leaving a note that you found her. when i find a lost dog..i always phone all the local vets leaving a description of the animal and my contact number, and the police who will also take your details...that way when the owner contacts them, they can be freferred straight back to you. we found two dogs like this, and their owners collected them within the day, sobbing that they had been lost......well done you for helping her...lots wouldn't. thanks xxxx
