Can a DDR2 graphics card be installed in a DDR1 motherboard?

My motherboard is a ASUS P4P800-VM......my current video card is a NVIDIA GeForce FX 5700......and i recently bought a NVIDIA e-Geforce 7600 GT Superclocked.......the motherboard is AGP 8X compatible and i have over 512 MB...i have 1022 MB worth of memory.....but 7600 GT is DDR2.....and my motherboard is only DDR1.....is it compatible?
